As early as 1992, Zong Yali, who was then the Business Director of Xuzhou Yunlong District People's Hospital, founded plastic microsurgery and was the first to successfully replant severed fingers for young children, replantation of severed fingers with multiple segments, index finger reconstruction, tissue defect surgery and a series of cosmetic surgeries, including wrinkle removal, breast augmentation, liposuction, pouch and double eyelid, etc. Mr Zong is famous for his superb medical skills and advanced concepts in Huaihai Economic Zone.

In order to benefit more patients, Zong Yali refused to stay in the system in 2000 but joined hands with a group of like-minded medical colleagues to found Xuzhou Renci Hand Trauma Hospital, one of the first private hospitals in Xuzhou. Starting from more than a dozen beds, the whole group has been striving steadily, adhering to the aim of "Kindness, Care, Benevolence, and Charity", and has been continuously writing brilliant chapters of Renci Hospital.

In December 2011, Xuzhou Renci Hospital cooperated with Xuzhou First People's Hospital, a local large-scale 3A hospital, to add the board of "East Branch of Xuzhou First People's Hospital". The two hospitals share resources and complementary advantages to better serve local people.

As for the first five years, Xuzhou Renci Hospital was in the stage of primitive capital accumulation, which was located in founding the hand truma specialized hospital. Then as for the second five years, the hospital was in the stage of development and growth. Through "enlarging the scale, enriching the connotation and setting up mechanism", Xuzhou Renci Hospital has developed from a single hand truma hospital to a traumatology hospital. As for the third five years, the hospital was in the brand building and expansion stage, which involves orthopaedic trauma and hand truma as the leading disciplines and drives the great development of many disciplines, including plastic surgery, pain rehabilitation, high-end obstetrics and gynecology, internal medicine, surgery, burns, senile diseases, etc. Moreover, two public second-level general hospitals, Xuzhou Construction Workers Hospital and Xuzhou Finance and Trade Workers Hospital, have been merged to form a multi-level medical service network.

In 2016, Renci Hospital entered the fourth five-year plan, and Phase II Ward Building was put into use. The scale of the hospital was continuously expanded. The hospital made great strides in accordance with the development strategy of "big brand, big platform and big network".
